Friday, July 25, 2008 Connaught Place Instantly recognisable on a Delhi map as a circle with radial roads leading out, Connaught Place is the perfect place to go if you want to spend a leisurely afternoon shopping – or just strolling. This 75-year-old shopping arcade has undergone a recent revival, with the opening of a brand-new Metro station and a freshly landscaped Central Park complete with fountains and Japanese-style bridges. Most of the old cinemas, except Regal, are now swanky multiplexes. But the Café Coffee Days and Baristas here must still compete with Delhi classics like Wenger’s Pastry Shop and United Coffee House.
